What is geometry and examples?

1. What is geometry? Geometry is the branch of mathematics that studies the sizes, shapes, positions, and dimensions of things. In other words, geometry is the study of space. For example, a square has four sides of equal length and four right angles. A circle has no sides and no angles. A rectangle has two sets of parallel sides and four right angles. These are just a few of the shapes that you'll learn about in geometry. You'll also learn about lines, points, and planes. 2. The history of geometry Geometry is one of the oldest sciences and it is the study of shapes, sizes, and positions of objects. It is believed that geometry was first developed by the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians. Some of the earliest examples of geometry are the pyramids of Egypt and the ziggurat of Babylon. Geometry was also used extensively in ancient Greece. The most famous example of Greek geometry is the Parthenon. 3. The different types of geometry Geometry is the study of shapes and their prop...
